Signal Processing Activities in India: Looking for a Collaborative future

The 50th edition of ICASSP is being held for the first time in India. We have been having members meet in inter-institutional video calls; putting together a compendium of Signal Processing Activities in India: carried out over several decades and being currently pursued, in different institutions. Given the humongous nature of this task, it will take much more time to compile and organize, even though it is being pursued enthusiastically and vigorously by several researchers, professionals and academics in signal processing in India. The main purpose of compiling the current and past activities is to bring the Signal Processing Community in India together, to reach greater heights in research, development and education, also catalyzing a greater connect with their counterparts all over the world.

While individuals will continue their pursuits in future, in Signal Processing in India and make important contributions, we believe that a conscious coming together and collaboration between all of them, to pursue some collective endeavours in research, education and development in the broad area of Signal Processing will augur very well for the growth and development of this area in India and for India as a nation. In this coming together, we also welcome and invite our colleagues and students from Institutes all over the world to come together with us, to work with us in doing greater things than we can do individually.

We cordially invite all those who have registered for and are attending ICASSP 2025, to participate in this session. The following team has been responsible to put this session together. Some of them have registered for ICASSP 2025 and intend to be present, to assist in the conduct of this special session.
